Connect members are sticking to their 36 hours. Keep visiting this site for updates on action across the country and how you can get involved.
Although BT is talking it down, we know the action is beginning to bite. Here are justa fewspecific examples ofthe impact on BTacross the UKof members working their proper hours:
Members who have been used to giving extra time to BT to ensure that problems such as this are solved, wanta fair deal inreturn.
We are getting reports from across the UK of members working their contracted hours, refusing to travel in their own time, leaving work on time and switching off their mobile, Blackberry and PC and regaining their work-life balance as a result.
This action is the only way to make BT make a fair and reasonable offer on your pay. Your actionis making a difference.
The more members we have, the stronger our voice. If you know any non members, encourage them to join and take part in the action- see www.connectuk.org/join
Remember to keep checking your private (non work) email address as this is the way that we will communicate with you. Talk to your colleagues and make sure they know what is going on. Connect members have been taking part in events around London. Connect members have been working their contracted hours across the capital, and have been refusing to travel into meetings in Central London outside their working time. Connect has been maintaining a presence at key sites – including the BT Tower and BT Centre in Central London.
There are meetings and events going on across London, look out for us at a building near you. Contact your local rep for more details of what’s going on and how you can get involved in handing out leaflets, reminding your colleagues what’s going on and how to support and encourage each other throughout the action.
